On this Veterans Day, I'm so sad to report that we lost my amazing dad @eddies.almanac one week ago, November 3rd, 2023 to pancreatic cancer. I can barely type this without bursting into tears, this time of year has been hard for me my entire adult life but this is the ultimate gut punch. He was a Veteran, retired LAPD, Indiana Jones Enthusiast, Saints Fanatic, Model-T Expert, Avocado Extraordinaire, Nickname Aficionado, Grill Master, Pirate. Certified Baby and Puppy Whisperer, He could fix literally anything, Knew all the words to every song by the Doors, Can quote episodes of California Gold, Loved red meat and red potato salad. Dad, you were so stubborn, funny, smart, handsome, kind, giving, strong, talented, selfless and wise. But your best quality is how much you cared about, sacrifice for, and loved your family and your country. Thank you for making @ragtymestation a mom, for giving me great siblings and a great work ethic. Thanks for teaching me how to throw a football and change a tire. Thanks for giving me the nickname "Lumpy", the shoulders of a line backer, and the hands of a power forward. Thanks for teaching me to stick to what I believe in and to never let other people's opinions sway my own. You're like, a really great father. I love you, Ed Largey, time to "break on through to the other side".

Theresa Marie Bailey passed away Wednesday January 17th 2024 at 12:04 am after a prolonged illness with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born 2nd generation Italian in Brooklyn , NY to Vincent and Ester Foglia.

At an early age she and her family of 6 siblings moved from Canarsie Brooklyn, NY to Burbank, California for the USA west coast opportunity.

She attended Luther Burbank Jr High School and then Burbank High school . She loved and excelled in dancing and appeared as dance competition during High School on the Al Jarvis Show . Her graduating class was 1959 where she met her husband of 62 years Keith Bailey.

She and Keith bore two children, both boys , Carl  on 7/11/1965  & Michael Bailey 9/3/69.

She was 100% total stay at home Mother. Theresa suffered tragedy and is predeceased by her son Carl William Bailey who died in a car accident 41 years ago January 14th 1983.

Theresa was much appreciated due to her sense of humor ,generosity, and love of  family  by her immediate family and additionally by her coworkers as Vice President at West Coast propeller her family company for 15 years .

In retirement , she was philanthropic and gave back to her community in Ventura Calif donating her time at the animal rescue Thrift shops that all proceeds went to spay / neuter programs for all furry animals big and small.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Glen Walter Haws, who passed away on Feb. 4, 2026, at the age of 90.

Glen was born on Sept. 24, 1935, in Burbank, California, at the home of his grandparents, to parents Glen and Maxine (Odermatt) Haws. A lifelong resident of Burbank, he took great pride in the city that shaped him. One of his favorite childhood stories was serving as paperboy to heavyweight boxing champion Jeff Jeffries — a story he never tired of telling.

He attended Burbank High School, where he met the love of his life, Beverly (Danell) Haws. After graduating in 1953, Glen enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following boot camp at Camp Pendleton, he returned home to elope with his 17-year-old sweetheart before being deployed to Japan and Korea. In 1956, they welcomed their first son, John, while living in a trailer at Camp Pendleton.

After his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1956, Glen worked as an apprentice machinist at Mitchell Cameras in Glendale before achieving what he considered his true calling. On Sept. 1, 1957, he was hired as a firefighter for the city of Burbank — becoming a proud second-generation Burbank firefighter, following in the footsteps of his father, who joined the department in 1943.

In those early years, when firefighter pay was modest, Glen worked multiple jobs to provide for his growing family. He drove his Model A Ford pickup to local dairies, loaded it with manure, and sold it door-to-door, spreading it on lawns throughout the neighborhood. He also worked as a plasterer and painter — doing whatever it took to build a stable life for his family.

In 1959, their second son, James, was born. The following year, Glen purchased a home on Kenneth Road in Burbank, where he would live for the rest of his life. Robert was born in 1962, and their daughter Linda (Wright) in 1968, completing their family of four children.

Over his 40-year career with the Burbank Fire Department, Glen rose through the ranks, promoting to engineer and later to captain in 1973. Being a firefighter was not just his profession — it was his dream. He loved the camaraderie, the service, and the stories that came with the job. Though he retired in 1998 due to a medical condition, it was a career he never truly wanted to leave.

Glen was a storyteller at heart. He cherished sharing memories of growing up in Burbank and recounting his years on the fire department. His life was rooted in family, hard work, and dedication to his community.

He is survived by his children: John and daughter-in-law Kathy; Robert and daughter-in-law Terrie; and Linda and son-in-law Mark Wright; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Donna Edwards. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly, in 2009, and his son James in 2025. Glen’s legacy lives on in the family he built, the city he loved, and the department he proudly served.

Graveside services for Henry L. Rebbe, 61, will be Sunday 2 p.m. at the Rosehill Cemetery, Spearfish with the Rev. Arthur W. Westwood, pastor of the United Church of Christ, Spearfish, officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Rudolph Rittberger, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Fidler Funeral Chapel, Spearfish in charge of arrangements.

He was born in Meridian, Idaho, June 14, 1913. He was the son of the late Henry and Leona Rebbe. The family resided at Boise, Idaho and moved to Spearfish in March 1917 where they established the Rebbe Ranch 10 miles west of Spearfish.

He graduated from Spearfish High School in the class of 1929. He attended Black Hills State College and received his B.S. in education at Northern Colorado University, Greeley, in 1933. He later received his M.S. degree at the University of Wyoming, Laramie and did work toward his doctoral degree at UCLA.

He was a high school and junior college mathematics instructor and administrator through his professional career. He retired in 1970 due to ill health, at Burbank, California. He was a life member of the education association.

He was married Dec. 25, 1937 to the former Margaret Davis, Redig, at Belle Fourche. Mr. Rebbe died Oct. 13 at Burbank, California.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughters, Mrs. Clifford Rita Oden, Brea, Calif.; Mrs. Neil Bette Tillett, Canoga Park, Calif.; Lana Rebbe, Leucada, Calif.; son, Randal, at home; three grandchildren; mother Mrs. Leona Rebbe, Spearfish; sister Mrs. Eugene Virginia Kennedy, Spearfish; brothers Richard, Boring, Ore., and Robert of Sherman Oaks, California. He was preceded in death by his father Henry L. Rebbe Sr., and son Deane.

A memorial has been established for the Heart and Cancer fund.

Yvonne Marie Johnson (Flores) class of 1958 passed away July 19, 2014. 

My mom never left Burbank after high school and passed away peacefully after attending a BHS/JBHS reunion in 2013 at the Castaway were she was the oldest graduate there. 

RIP mom and thank you for this page to preserve her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Little Church of the Flowers for Kermit Ehrman, of Maywood, who died at the White Memorial hospital Saturday morning.

Mr. Ehrman came to Burbank with his parents in 1922 and graduated from Burbank High School in 1929. He was employed by the J.C. company, Wilmington, California, An active participant in Boy Scout work, he was a scoutmaster for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. May Ehrman; one step-daughter, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ehrman, 101 East Burbank Blvd.

NOTE: Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California
