Newberg resident, Janet Brown, 87, died on August 23, 2009.
Janet was born on August 8, 1922 in Centralia, Washington, to Ethel and Sidney Brown. She was raised in Burbank and Glendale, California, and attended high school in Burbank. She was a member of the Sixth Ferrying group in Long Beach, CA, and was a stewardess for United Airlines.
In 1953, Janet married Gary Lehman, and she began working as a passenger agent for United Airlines. Janet later worked as a Real Estate Agent in Newport Beach for 20 years. A few of Janet’s interests in life include writing, painting, watching the TV series MASH, and spending time with her family and her dog, Letty. She was a member of Clipped Wings, United Airlines Stewardess Alumnae and Flight Attendants Inc.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Sydney Lehman Steen and husband, Charles, of Newberg; brother, Keith Brown and wife, Dorothy, of Bend; many cousins, nieces and nephews, grandson, Forrest, and her dog, Letty. She is preceded in death by her son, Andrew Hill Lehman (2007); former husband, Gary Lehman (1997); and borther, Marbury Brown (1997).
A memorial service is pending, and will be held in Southern California. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center, Tualatin, Oregon.
