Age 78, a resident of Riddle, Oregon, passed away at his home Tuesday morning, on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. He was born at Burbank, California to the late Emmett G. and Lillie Belle Tanner Dixon on April 15, 1928.
Doug Dixon was married to Jacqueline Joyce Howell at Burbank on September 23, 1947, and she preceded him in death on October 18, 2004. Doug Dixon moved to Oregon with his wife in 1990, and was a member of the Church of Christ at Canyonville, Oregon and was also the minister of that church for quite a few years.
He liked to paint, liked gardening, hunting, fishing, an most of all liked people. Doug went to several years of college to learn the banking business and he learned it well. He was in the banking business for 42 years and retired as a Vice President of the bank.
He is survived by one son, Wayne Douglas and his wife, Linda Sue Dixon of Banning, California; two daughters, Karen Diane Dixon of Riddle and Kim Denise and her husband, Steven Daubney of Riddle; four grandchildren, Douglas Wayne Dixon; Julie Ann Dixon; Kristi Dawn Briggs; Brock James Daubney; and six great-grandchildren, Diedra; Chase; and Kurstan Dixon; Jaiden; Nyccalas and Tayshia Briggs.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the Canyonville Church of Christ at 551 SW 5th Street, with minister Ron Sherman officiating. Following that service there will be a graveside service at the Riddle Cemetery. Mountain View Memorial Chapel at Myrtle Creek is serving the family.
