Burbank Leader, February 21-22, 2004
Lifelong Burbank resident Marion Louise Brown Shelton, died February 14, 2004. She was 80 years of age.
Affectionately called "Gaa Mee" by her grandchildren. Marion was born August 3, 1923 to Ernest "Pete" Brown and Phebe Bowman Brown. Growing up in Burbank she attended Joaquin Miller Elementary School, John Muir Junior High School and Burbank High School, graduating in 1941. Marion worked for Lockheed during World War II and returned there once again in 1966 where she was a supervisor until her retirement in 1985.
Marion is survived by her son Randy and daughter-in-law Mary Lou; daughter Sallie Thomas and son-in-law John; grandsons Kory Thomas, Toby Thomas and Peter Rowell; granddaughter Jennie Hope Pullen; and great-grandchildren RJ and Kate Pullen. Marion will also be missed by her extended family Steven and Mary Seekins; Christy Seekins Evans; John , Jerry and Maryann Fido; and many friends and neighbors, especially "The Girls".
Marion's life was filled with artistic endeavors such as her hand-braided rugs, chair caning and knitting. She had a love of adventure, a great sense of humor, strong determination and , most of all, endless love for her family.
Services will be private. Family and friends will hold a celebration of Marion's life at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 21, 2004.
