Josephine N. “Jo” Huismann, age 64, a resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away October 30, 1998, at her home.
Memorial services were held November 3 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls with Rev. David Steffenson officiating.
Josephine N. Huismann was born June 24, 1934, in St. Paul, MN, to Patrick and Ethel (Brooks) O’Malley. She grew up in Mahtomedi and Duluth, MN. In 1948, the family relocated to Burbank, CA, where Jo graduated from Burbank High School in 1952. She worked at Bank of America in Los Angeles, CA, and later at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.
She was united in marriage to Daniel Huismann on November 17, 1973, in Monument, CO. In 1975, the couple moved to Onamia, MN, and farmed. They relocated to Pierz, MN, in 1979 and farmed until 1990 when they moved to Little Falls. Jo was very active with Morrison County Social Services foster care. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Little Falls and the Martha Circle. She was the president of the Lutheran Brotherhood Branch 8380, served on the board of Kinship of Morrison County, committee member of Share A Meal, and served on the board of Oasis/ Share A Meal.
Survivors include husband, Daniel Huismann; sons, Paul Bochow and wife Cindy of Little Falls; Steven Bochow and wife Michelle of Pierz; Kevin Jones and friend Lisa of Little Falls; Daniel Huismann and friend Jane of Palmer Lake, CO; foster daughters, Mary Ann Taylor and husband Andy of Little Falls; Alicia Mae Smith of Little Falls; brother, Walter O’Malley and wife Jeanne of St. Cloud, MN; 13 grandchildren and three foster grandchildren.
