Ted Olesen, BHS 1939
Ted Olesen, 88, died October 16, 2009.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., October 23, at Fir Lawn Memorial Park, 1070 W. Main Street, in Hillsboro. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m., Christian Church of Hillsboro, 540 NE Edison Street.
Ted Olesen was born July 29, 1921, in Beach, North Dalota, to Sylvia and Albert Olesen. The family moved to southeran California and he graduated from Burbank High School in 1939. In June 1941, he married Marjorie Smith. They later moved to Mountaindale.
He owned Flying A, Olesen's Service Station, Hillsboro. He later left the auto business and went to work for the Oregon Journal, Valley and Tigard Times and The Oregonian. He also bought and remodeled homes for resale or rentals.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Olesen; son Kenneth Olesen; daughters, Beverly McIrvin and Barbara Randall; five grandchildren and one great grand- grandchild. Remembrances: American Heart Association.
