Lila Lee Wilson Boyle, age 84, died Monday, July 25, 2011 after a miraculous five year battle with stage IV cancer. Her petite frame was deceiving. Her fighting spirit was as strong as that of any giant. Lila was united in paradise with her Savior Jesus Christ.

Born May 16, 1927 in Kansas City, KS, she was raised in Burbank, CA by the late Francis and Viola Wilson. She graduated from Burbank High School Class of '45.

As a young girl she sang and danced with the Meglin Kiddies, a children's performance troupe whose notable alumnus included Shirley Temple, Judy Garland, and Mickey Rooney. Lila performed at the Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theater and appeared as an extra in a couple of motion pictures. Lila continued to express her love of music in high school theater productions, semi-professional operettas, and in church choirs.

She met her future husband Tom Boyle, an Atomic Energy Commission engineer, in Colorado. They raised their family, son Thomas and daughter Kathleen, in Las Vegas, NV. Lila was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Green Valley Presbyterian Church.

Lila greeted every day with a smile, had a wonderful sense of humor, and she was never without a story about what made her most happy: her family. Her life was further enriched when she moved to Tucson, AZ to live closer to her son and daughter-in-law.

Lila was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas Boyle and his wife Alma, daughter Kathleen Boyle, grandsons David Boyle and Stephen Boyle, and a cousin Doug O’Hare and his wife Niki. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 9:20 am, as Lila Lee Boyle will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
