Born in Toronto, Ohio a resident Burbank, California since 1934, she passed away July 20, 2014 in her sleep with daughter and son-in-law by her side in Henderson, Nevada.
Helen attended John Muir Jr. High School and Burbank High School (‘38), Glendale College and Los Angeles Valley College. In her working career she was a court clerk to Judge Reid, purchasing agent, escrow officer and Lockheed security administrator.
Helen was Worthy Matron Magnolia Park Eastern Star in 1978. She was a member of and served as deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Burbank. Parties with family and friends gave her great joy.
She is predeceased by her brother John Hendry, sister Agnes Morrison, son Tom Tyle and husband Mike Martin. Survived by her daughter Barbara (Fred) Young, grandson Tom Tyle and many cousins, nieces and nephews who all adored her ever cheerful, smiling personality.
A memorial service will be at First Presbyterian Church of Burbank Saturday August 2, 2014 at 10:00am. Contributions may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice 4141 Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119 ( www.nah.org ) in memory of Helen Martin.
