He was a proud Vietnam veteran where he attained the rank of SP5 with the United States Army. On June 15, 1968 he married Judith Elaine Kay (BHS 1960) in Ventura County, California. He was a member of the Republican Party. Somewhere along the way he and Judith moved to Aurora, Arapahoe County, Colorado where he passed away.
Richard passed away on December 26, 2016 with memorial services held Saturday January 7, 2017. He was 76 years old. Richard was buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
