It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Penny Lee Strickland Rivera, who passed away on June 23, 2020. Penny was born on November 10, 1943 to Mary Jane Cole Strickland and Harry Strickland who were founders of The Burbank Historical Society and Museum.
Penny was a longtime Burbank resident. Her father Harry Strickland was a long time and retired Burbank Police Officer. Penny's mother was active in many Burbank activities, especially with the Burbank Historical Society and Museum.
Penny and her husband Tony Rivera were both really involved with the Historical Society and Museum and Penny was a Historical Society board member and treasurer, following in her mother's footsteps.
Penny was a 1961 graduate of Burbank High School and active on their reunion committee. Penny love Burbank history. Thoughts and prayers go out to Penny's husband Tony Rivera and her daughter, Michelle, and the rest of the Rivera family.
