Long Beach resident Michael Patrick Keeley II, 28, died at Ocean Beach Hospital on October 18, 1997. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
He was born September 7, 1969, in Lynwood, California and received his education in Burbank, California, where he graduated from Burbank High School in 1987. He participated in youth football and baseball programs during his school years, He was also avidly interested in music and art.
While visiting the Long Beach Peninsula, he decided to make it his permanent home and moved to Long Beach in 1993. He was self-employed as a painter and had hopes of becoming a youth minister. He enjoyed music and loved to play his guitar. He did wood carvings and could draw “anything and everything,” according to his family.
In 1995 he married Nicole Evans, and they made their home in Long Beach. She survives him at home, along with a daughter, Jessica, and a son, Keenan. Also surviving are his parents, Suzanne King of Hemet, California, and Michael Sr. and Cyndy Keeley of Burbank, California; a brother, Robert Keeley of Everett, Washington; two uncles and many friends.
The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Lone Fir Cemetery in Long Beach with the Rev. Larry Bennett officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Keeley Children Trust Fund at Twin Harbors Credit Union, 705 S. Pacific Ave., Long Beach, WA, 98631. Arrangements are by Penttila’s Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach.
