Vernon “Vernie” Lynn Martino, 70, of Indian Wells, died January 14, 1998, in Palm Springs. He was born October 27, 1927, to Victor and Eva Lutz Martino in Burbank.
Mr. Martino was the owner-operator of Vern’s Restaurant for 27 years. He served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant for two years.
He was a member of the South West Community Church, Desert Horizon Country Club, and Kiwanis Club of Burbank, was Key Club advisor, and served on the YMCA board and the City of Burbank Police Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne, three daughters, Deborah Macheski of Newport Beach, Patty Hunter of Rancho Bernardo, and Lins Van Wagner of Pasadena; and eight grandchildren.
Cryptside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Palm Springs Mausoleum in Cathedral City. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Springs Mortuaries in Cathedral City.
