Mr. John Peter Coon, 48, died June 22, 1998. Mr. Coon was born in Portland, Oregon. He was a longtime Burbank resident, prior to moving to Pittsburg, California. He was a 1967 graduate of Burbank High School and of Los Angeles Trade- Technical Institute. He was an employee of Intel Corp.
Mr. Coon is survived by his wife, Patricia: son, Morgan; daughter, Kathryn; father, Robert; brothers, Michael and Jerry; sisters, Mary McAfee and Teresa; sisters-in-law, Carole and Louise; brother-in-law, Ken; nieces, Heather, Alexandra and Adelina; nephew, Michael, and extended family members, Tom, Al, Alonzo and Frances.
A Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 26, at St. Catherine's of Siena in Martinez. Connolly & Taylor Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.Contributions on Mr. Coon's behalf may be made to the Children's Hospital Branches, Inc., 1833 Alcatraz Ave., Berkeley, CA, 94703-2714.

John Peter Coon died June 22 following a long battle with cancer. He was 48. The native of Portland, Ore., moved to Pittsburg 19 years ago from the Southern California cities of Burbank and Pasadena. Coon worked for Intel Corporation in Folsom and Santa Clara. Previously, he worked for Pacific Bell for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patricia Coon; son, Morgan Coon of San Diego; daughter Kathryn Coon of Pittsburg; father, Robert Coon of Martinez; brothers, Michael Coon of Burbank, and Jerry Coon of Newark; sisters, Mary McAfee of Novato, and Teresa Coon of Paris, France; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Catherine's of Siena in Martinez. Memorial gifts may be sent to Children's Hospital of Oakland.
