Dr. Henry B. "Bud" Hunt, BHS 1951
Dr. Henry B. Hunt, known as "Bud", passed away peacefully, in his home, in Vista, California, on June 19, 2013.
Bud was born on February 15, 1933, to Henry Robert Hunt and Mildred Ferguson Hunt in Burbank, California. He graduated from Burbank High School. He served his country in the Army’s 25th Infantry "Tropic Lightning" Division during the Korean War. After returning to Burbank, he married his high school sweetheart, Wilmadele Baker and raised a family of six children. He attended USC and Loyola and had a successful dental practice in Burbank for 42 years.
Dr. Hunt spent much of his time serving his family and community. He was a member of Kiwanis and Rotary. He served for 12 years on the Burbank Unified School District, and for several years on the Boards of Planning and Parks and Recreation. He coached little league, built and flew model airplanes, raised parrots, raced pigeons, restored antique cars and was an avid fisherman, treating patients and friends to Memorial Day fishing trips on "The Betty-O."
Bud was a member and served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as Bishop, High Councilor and Scoutmaster.
His proudest accomplishment was his family. Bud is survived by his wife Wilmadele, his sister Billee Hunt Carr, children Carolee and Ron Whitehead, Marissa and John Munoa, Kevin and Monica Hunt, Colleen and Brian Hervey, Elizabeth and Scott Lowry and David and Leanna Hunt, twenty-four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. His favorite quote was, "No success can compensate for failure in the home." -David O McKay
