Memorial Set for Teacher
A memorial service will be held today in Sepulveda for Laura F. Rate, a teacher at Burbank High School for 21 years before her retirement in 1944.
The Rev. Howard Matson will officiate at the 4 p.m. service at the Valley Unitarian - Universalist Church, 9550 Haskell Ave.
Miss Rate, who died November 15, 1966 following an illness, taught Journalism and English and was active as a member of the American Assn. of University Women, Burbank chapter EO and PEO and the congregation of the Valley Unitarian-Universalist Church.
She leaves a sister, Mrs. William T. Goodwin, and a niece, Mrs. Ellinor Green of Iowa.
