Kathryn Schmidt Sanfilippo, BHS 1964Kathryn Schmidt Sanfilippo , 59, of Canyon Country passed away at home Saturday, March 11, 2006 after an 11 month heroic battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born November 3, 1946 in Los Angeles the daughter of the late Frank Schmidt and Ann Chrapek Schmidt.
Kathryn was a 1964 graduate of Burbank High School. She was on leave from HR Textron in Valencia as an Administrative Secretary at the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband, Joe, whom she married in 1964; a son, Joe of San Jose; a daughter, Christie Neil of San Diego; grandchildren, Jenna and Jack Sanfilippo , Jimmy and Ashley Neil; mother, Ann Schmidt and sister, Cyndi Perkins of Newhall, and brother, Larry Schmidt, of Las Vegas.
Kathryn will be cremated and a mass will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Canyon Country by Msgr. Edmond M. Renehan at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006.
Her family wrote, "She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was fond of hosting holiday get-togethers and preparing holiday feasts. She would spend endless hours playing with her grandchildren and remark that they wear her out but would beg for more time with them."
