Jan. 5, 1934 — July 25, 2016
Janet Jeanine Gowdy passed away of natural causes July 25, 2016, after a short illness. She was surrounded by friends and family in those last days. She had suffered with dementia for the last several years, while still living at home and enjoying her family and beloved dog, Missy, who followed her everywhere.
Janet was born in South Dakota on Jan. 5, 1934. She moved to Burbank, Calif., when she was just a child. Her childhood was filled with involvement in every activity under the sun. She excelled in everything she did; she taught herself to twirl the baton and in high school marched in the Rose Bowl parade.
Janet was married for 64 years to Gene Gowdy. She is survived by her husband, Gene; daughters, Paula Conetta, Rhonda Breech and Gloria Fajardo; son, Guy Gowdy; and several family members, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love and kindness touched everyone she met and she will be dearly missed by everyone.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Oak Hills Church in Folsom, Calif, at 1 p.m.
