Michael Shannon Flynn, BHS 1983

Michael Shannon Flynn passed away Feb. 9 2013, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 48. Mike, as he was known by many, or Shannon, as his family and close friends called him, was born Dec. 8, 1964, in Glendale, Calif., to Michael and Vickie (Oberholtzer) Flynn.

Mike lived in Burbank, Calif., then several years in Basalt Colo., then back to Burbank, before graduating from Burbank High School in 1983. He worked in the Air Conditioning Industry for over 25 years and most recently worked for Mercury Air from 2003, when Mike and his family moved to Lake Havasu City, until 2012. 

Among Mike’s many hobbies were Hot Rods and motorcycles, building several cars and bikes from the ground up. His love for old, classic cars led him to become one of the founding members of The Lucky Few Car Club in 2008, where he was known as "Stitch." He also loved boating on the lake and fiddling with guitars and guns.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Kim Flynn, of Lake Havasu City; son, Shane Flynn, of Lake Havasu City; mother, Vickie Flynn, of Lake Havasu City; father, Michael Flynn and his companion, Nancy Seymour, of Burbank, Calif.; sister, Laury Spinelli and her husband, Gino, of Simi Valley, Calif.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be today, at 6 p.m. with Chaplain Kathy Kenney offering words of comfort. Viewing of Mike will be from 5 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
