Job Jun passed away on Friday March 27, 2009 after a battle with cancer. He was 34 years old.

He was born in Korea and was a fun loving guy and full of life. He will be missed. No other details at this time.

Michael Douglas Gough, BHS 1970

JULY 16, 1952 - BURBANK, CALIFORNIA ~ JULY 22, 2015 - LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA ........... Mike Gough passed away on July 22 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,after a long illness, less than a week after his 63rd birthday. ................ Mike was the third of four sons in his family. They lived on Frederic St. in Burbank while Mike was growing up. He attended Benjamin Franklin Elementary,Luther Burbank Junior High, and Burbank High School. At BHS Mike played Varsity Football,starting at nose guard on the defensive line. He was an outstanding shot putter on the Track Team. ........... While at Burbank High in 1968 Mike met Denise Cooper. They were both in Dance Performance at BHS. Mike and Denise were married on July 1, 1972, and just had their 43rd anniversary. Mike became a Burbank Police Officer in 1973, and was a detective with the department before he retired in 1993 after 20 years of service. ............. Mike is survived by his wife, Denise Cooper Gough, of Valencia; daughter and son-in-law, Erin Gough Wehrenberg and Kevin Wehrenberg,and their two boys, Charlie and Henry Wehrenberg, of Burbank;son and daughter-in-law, Michael Patrick Gough and Ashley Gough of Pasadena;older brothers, Alan Gough and David Gough; younger brother, Steven Gough;and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Lucienne Cooper, of Canyon Lake..........
A memorial was held for Mike on Sunday, August 2, at sea aboard the "Wild Goose". The photo of Mike holding Jazzie was taken only a few weeks before his passing. ........... Alan Landros, BHS 1970

William Henry Bertrand, Former BHS Principal/Teacher

William Henry Bertrand, esteemed coach, teacher, and administrator in Burbank Unified School District passed away on June 24, 2015 surrounded by family. Born in Glendale, California on May 13, 1930, he was a proud graduate of UCLA and served in the armed forces, driving a tank into the fallout of the atomic tests in the 1950s. He married his high school sweetheart Della and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Bill dedicated over 40 years to the Optimist International Organization participating as a member of the Magnolia Park club and serving as President of the Optimist Youth Home as well on the Board and helping to establish the charter school. Additionally he was proud of being named a juror to the Los Angels County Grand Jury.A beloved and caring husband, father, grandfather and uncle, he is survived by his wife Della, daughters Susan and Kristi, son William Michael, son-in-laws Jim Rondou, Rene Herrera and Robert Conner, five grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. A memorial to honor his life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Optimist Youth Home 6975 North Figueroa Street, P.O. Joanne Bernice Steen Stolpe, BHS 1953

Joanne Bernice Steen Stolpe, BHS 1953 ....................... Joanne was born on June 9, 1935 in Duluth, Minnesota and moved with her family to Burbank, California at age 8, so her parents could work for Lockheed during World War II. Joanne lived in a house on the hill near Lincoln Elementery and the Burbank Military Acadmy. The house is now gone part of the Los Angeles River. Joanne graduated from Burbank High School in 1953. After high school Joanne married Dan L. Stolpe, BHS 1949. They moved into a home on Lamer Street and lived in the same house for next 57 years. She raised her two children, was a Girl Scout leader, worked as a library aid at Joaquin Miller elementary school, and sold Tupperware and Avon products. .............. Joanne loved to travel. When her children were young, the family traveled extensively across the U.S. , Canada, and into Mexico by camper, but slept outside under the stars most nights. Joanne was proud of her Swedish and Norigan hertiage and would travel with her husband to visit family in Sweden and Norway, and also visited Denmark and Russia. Some of Joane's favorite things to do were short trips to the beach, to the mountains, and day trips with various senior groups. Joanne also loved to go to the Ronald Reagan Library where she would go several times a year................... After the death of her husband Dan, she became involved with the Southern Californian Genealogy Society where she volunteered helping out with membership, stuffing envelopes and putting stamps on envelopes and decoriating our tables at Christmas time for our Christmas Party and meeting. She also traveled with the
Patricians on day trips. ......................... Joanne was preceded in death by her parent, Husband Dan and a brother, Eugene Steen. Joanne is survived by her two children Kevin, Susan and two grand sons, Andrew and Joseph; and sister-in-law Marion McCarrick Steen, BHS 1949. She also leaves behind many friends from the Burbank High Senior Bulldogs Alumni group, The Patricians and the Sourthern California Genealogy Society.

Mark Villasenor, BHS 1971

Mark Villasenor, BHS '71. Mark passed away suddenly at his home in Mission Hills on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 7 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint John the Baptist De La Salle Catholic Church, 16555 Chatsworth St., Granada Hills 91344, 818-363-2535. Interment immediately following at San Fernando Mission Cemetery, 11160 Stranwood Ave., Mission Hills 91345, 818-361-7387. HAWAIIAN SHIRTS ARE REQUESTED TO BE WORN IN MARK'S HONOR. Mark spent 34 years as a fireman with LAFD from February 1975 until his retirement in February 2009. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Darlene; his three children; first grandchild to be born in November; his parents ages 92 and 89; his siblings, Pete BHS '66, Jim BHS '68, Lisa BHS '77, Emily BHS '79, and Melinda BHS '81; also sister-in-law, Beverly Myers Villasenor BHS '70. Many other relatives also survive Mark.

CLOVENNE T. "TONI" CANNON, Former BHS Teacher

CLOVENNE T. "TONI" CANNON December 1923 ~ July 27, 2015 -------------- Mrs. Toni Cannon passed away this past Monday, July 27, 2015, at age 91. She had suffered a broken hip a few months ago,followed by complications. She passed away in Montrose under hospice care at a medical facility. --------------- Mrs. Cannon taught at Burbank High School for 30 years from 1960 until her retirement in 1990. Before teaching at BHS she taught at John Muir Junior High in Burbank for four years in the late 1950's. At BHS she taught psychology, government, senior studies, senior seminar, and for four years she headed the BHS Career Center. Several times over her years at BHS she was voted "favorite teacher" by the student body, and had Ceralbus yearbooks dedicated to her. Mrs. Cannon attended the BHS '70 class reunions in 1990 and 2010. She lived a very active life during her retirement years. ------------- Mrs. Cannon had lived in La Crescenta for decades, and remained in her own home until just the past few months when her health began to decline. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Cannon. A memorial gathering will be held in her honor later on.
