You Whiskey Benders sad news from my neighborhood Tim Robbins passed away earlier this month from heart problems he was 60 years old BHS class of 1976. He told me a week or so before he died that he needed a new heart. He was on the transplant list but didn’t make it, sad. No other details at this time.
UPDATE: I received an email from Tim's cousin George at Tim's services.
Hi Linda I see your post about Tim. I am his cousin George. I just wanted to let you that his memorial service is Sat Dec 15th 2:00 pm at the Methodist Church on Glen Oaks. I see that Wiskey Bend has closed down but hopefully you can spread the word to his friends from there.

David Charles Greene
Our dear husband, father, and friend, passed away Thursday, June 25, 1992 while on a scout outing with his son and friends.
David was born in Burbank, California, August 25, 1952. He was the son of Harold and Mary Greene.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Neilson Greene; his son, Logan; and daughters, Chelsa, Shanna, and Courtney; also his mother, Mary Woolf Greene ofSt. George, Utah; brother, Robert (Elaine) Greene of Villa Park, California; sisters, Nancy (Willard) Walch of Bountiful, Utah and Margaret (William) Agnew of Arvada, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold F. Greene.
Dave and Lori were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on February 8, 1975.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving a mission in Venezuela from 1971 to 1973, and in various Church responsibilities including Elder's Quorum President and scouting positions. David was a friend of scouting and will be remembered for the contribution he has made in the lives of many young men.
His profession was in the Insurance Industry, most recently as Sales Vice President for the Employee Benefits Division of CIGNA Corp.
Dave was a loving husband and father who greatly enjoyed the personal time he spent with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life.
We'll all miss you ''Big Wave Dave.''
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sandy Crescent Stake Center, 10945 South 1700 East. Friends may call Monday 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East and Tuesday at the Stake Center 10:00-10:45 a.m.

James Russell Toto, BHS 1959
November 14, 1940 - February 5, 2015
James Russell Toto passed away peacefully in his home with his wife Vivian and daughter Beth on February 5th 2015 from complications of pneumonia after a three and a half year battle with lung cancer.
Born in Rochester N.Y., of Italian decent, he grew up with his cousin Patsi McKenna and later sister Gail. Both families later moved to Glendale California where they continued sharing school and church, living in adjoining duplexes. As a young teen, his father introduced him to the automobile when he arrived home with a beat up 1950 Chevy. His start in the "Hot Rod" rebuilding took him to owning and selling over fifty automobiles.
Always driven, his fierce work ethic landed him a stint in an Italian restaurant where he served famous clients, the likes of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and others. This afforded his home and the ability to provide and support his new family.
His direction turned when he was offered a position as a mechanic in an envelope manufacturing plant. He developed an astute knowledge and skill for all models and quickly moved up the ranks from Forman to assisting in development and setting up new plants, until he opened his own company - Envelope Manufacturing Supply Company.
He joined Envelope Manufactures Association and achieved to be one of the most sought after salesman in the industry. He traveled worldwide, dealing with international clienteles from Asia to Europe buying and selling envelope manufacturing machines. During those years, he raised two stepchildren as his own, providing fatherhood, education, and assisting in purchase of their first home to start their own family. His business flourished and his contact with people allowed him to financially help several start-up companies. Those relationships remained significant to this day.
As his father before him, James golfed avidly, and joined the Masons. Later, he became a member of the Shriners. He loved flying and was a pilot for 30+ years. He owned several airplanes and was able to use his planes and his skills to provide medical aid to less fortunate people by providing the Shriners with transportation to various impoverished areas in the United States and Mexico.
His philanthropic activities did not end there, his church affiliations allowed him to provide funds and installation of much needed electrical systems. Jim, as his friends knew him, was passionate about all his interests whether it is culinary skills, flying, golf or marriages.
Husband to his wife Vivian, father to his daughter Beth Nunn, grandfather to Jillian Nunn, brother to his sister Gail Ryan, and cousin to Patsy McKenna including nephews, nieces, cousins, dear friends, business associates and at least two ex-wives. He will be missed by all.
A Masonic ceremony will be held February 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Glendora California following will be a reception at his home. Sincere gratitude to City of Hope's Dr. Koczywas and staff, Dr. Jose Rodriguez, Dr. Sri Gorty and staff, and Community Care Hospice of Glendora who gave guidance, assistance, and love.

George Edward Vose was born in Burbank, California on August 22, 1945, he graduated from Burbank High School in 1963 and went on to graduate from California State University, Northridge in 1972 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in geology with minor degrees in math and biology.
He was known by all for his knowledge and expertise in automobiles and raced cars both at El Mirage dry lakes in California and at the Bonneville salt flats in Utah holding various top speed records at each race tract.
He is survived by his older brother Gary Vose of Newport Beach, and a nephew and two nieces. He was well liked and loved by all for his outgoing optimistic personality and will be very much missed. George died in early May and his ashes were scattered over the El Mirage race tract on May 19th.

Monde Mattioli
March 8, 1948 - March 29, 1997
Monde Mattioli of Corvallis, Or died Saturday at her home. She was 49.
She was born Raymonde Bertha Stiel in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of William and Edith Stiel. She spent her childhood in Burbank, California graduating from Marylhurst College in 1981. She received a master's degree in counseling from Oregon State University in 1985.
In 1984, Monde became Director of Health and Crisis Services at Community Outreach (Sunflower House) in Corvallis. She continued work as a counselor in private practice after leaving Community Outreach. Monde volunteered in the community as a counselor, crisis line worker, volunteer trainer, assisted foreign students at OSU and was active as an advocate for people with disabilities. Her community of friends gathered around her to celebrate her spiritual growth and Bat Mitzvah at age of 45.
Monde enjoyed art, astronomy, laughter and hiking with her dog Golda, especially on Finley's Woodpecker Trail. Many of her friends have been inspired by her determination, her devotion as a parent, her grace, sense of humor and love of bad jokes, her open and direct sharing of herself, and all the ways she lived a challenging life so well.
Survivors include her daughter. Melina of Corvallis; her brother and sister-in-law, Sheldon and Cecile Stiel of Simi Valley, California; and her nephew, Josh Stiel, also of Simi Valley, California.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2;30 p.m. today at Waverly Jewish Cemetery in Albany (near Waverly Lake). A gathering of family and friends for a meal of consolation will be held at 4; p.m. at Monde's home. Shivah will be held after the meal and continue through Saturday, April 5; and friends are invited to join in the gathering any evening after 6 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Outreach Inc., or Benton Hospice Service Inc., in care of DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel, 815 N.W. Buchanan, Corvallis, OR 97330. Arrangements are under the direction of DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel.
Patsy J. (Mead) Redditt passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017, with her adoring husband holding her hand.
Patsy was born to the late Roy and Lora Mead on April 15, 1935, in Duncan, OK. The Mead family moved to Burbank, CA, in 1939. Pat graduated from Burbank High School in 1951. She lived throughout Southern California. Having been married and divorced, she met the love of her life, Gene Redditt, in 1985. They were married in 1992, and just celebrated their 25th anniversary.
Patsy was an aerospace electrician. She worked on many projects and aircrafts including the B-1, B-2 and the SR71. She retired in 1997. Patsy and Gene moved to Sutherlin, Oregon, to be close to their grandkids in 2004.
During her retirement, Patsy enjoyed spending her time with Gene. You could always find them together. They were members of a local camper club enjoying monthly RV trips and a classic car club with their 48 Plymouth. They traveled to the East Coast several times to visit family. Patsy loved meeting people and learning their stories. She volunteered for local nonprofit events in Sutherlin.
Patsy leaves behind her best friend and husband, Gene Redditt; she passes on her compassionate hardworking, giving attitude to her children, Jon Campbell (Carrie), Carolyn Kucera (Steve), Christian Epps (Mark), Tim Redditt (Andria), Cindy Embry (Ted); grandchildren, Brant Campbell (Emily), Amanda Campbell, Shelby Campbell, Tyson Redditt and Aiden Redditt; brother, Bobbie Mead; her sister, Carolyn Marciano, will miss their daily phone calls; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember a strong lady that impacted their lives and kept the family together.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Guy Mead.
The family held a Celebration of Patsy's Life on Friday, May 19, 2017.
Brian Hallagan
October 17, 1955 - May 10, 2018
San Diego An SDSU alumnus and lifelong Delta Chi fraternity member. He worked in the mortgage lending field, but was best known as Coach and one of the "founding fathers" of the Carmel Mountain Ranch Little League.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Janel, sons Dallas (Nicole), and Brett, grandson Cash, mother Carole, sister Coleen (Roy), niece Fiona, brother-in-law Patrick (Sandy), and many friends. Memorial Mass 6/23, 10:30 am at St. Michael's Church in Poway. Celebration of Life 6/24, 24 pm at Old Poway Park. Memorial donations may be made to Remembrance of Brian Hallagan Go Fund Me account.

It comes with a heavy heart to announce the passing of our Father Brian Michael Hallagan. He was an amazingly loving Father to his 2 sons Dallas and Brett, and Husband to his wife of 28 years Janel. We are in shock to say the least. Our Dad loved sports, anything Dodgers, Lakers, Dallas Cowboys, UCLA and Kansas Jayhawks brought a smile to his face. Our Dad most enjoyed watching sports and movies with his wife Janel, coaching his sons in various sports, and playing softball with some of his closest friends.
To help cover some unexpected expenses(hospital/funeral) due to his abrupt passing, we are asking for donations. These donations will help ensure that our Father has a well deserved funeral service, and also help cover some expenses that occurred during his recent hospital visits. Jack Ricketts
1925 - 2017
September 25, 1925 - December 21, 2017 Jack Ricketts passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on December 21, 2017, at the age of 92. Jack was the beloved husband of Shirley Mae Ricketts for 68 years and loving father to Nancy Ricketts Arnold and Karen Ricketts.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Mae, both daughters, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Jack and Shirley Mae met in 1946 when Jack returned after serving three years in the Navy as a pharmacist's mate in the South Pacific during WWII.
Jack was a native Californian, born in Glendale in 1925. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1943, earned a BS Degree in Biology at Occidental College and a MA Degree in Educational Administration at CSU Northridge. His education afforded him the opportunities to teach science and serve as an administrator in the Burbank Unified School District.
Jack was active in a variety of community organizations, including Burbank YMCA Board of Directors, Bridge Across the Way Board, Magnolia Park Optimist Club, and Family Services Agency of Burbank. Jack enjoyed traveling the world, fishing, sailing, gardening, and reading. Above all, Jack loved his family.
The family is planning a private burial with military honors at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. A public celebration to honor Jack's beautiful and rewarding life will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 1:30 PM at Burbank First United Methodist Church, 700 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA 91502. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magnolia Park Optimist Club or Burbank First United Methodist Church.

Jaime Hernandez Ztinztun, BHS 1982

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jaime Hernandez Ztinztun who passed away on October 28 2017 in Burbank, California, leaving to mourn family and friends. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jaime Hernandez Ztinztun's life. Jaime was a 1982 graduate of Burbank High School where he played on the Burbank High soccer team.
Jaime spend most of his last months of his life in the hospital, battling his illness. Jaime was a loving husband to his wife Maru and a caring father to his dauglters Jasmine and Ashley, Jaime was always very involved in the church community of Saint Francis Xavier in Burbank , where him and his wife Maru will always be helping in the Sunday morning services. His love for animals was incredible, which is why he chose the veterinary profession.
A coworker left the following message:
Jaime was one of the most dependable people I have worked with. He had an undying love and caring for animals and his friends and coworkers. I worked with him in many situations and several hospitals. He even took my dog to the crematory for me which showed how unselfish he was. He always smiled and was pleasant. I will truly miss him. He was a true friend in ever aspect. He loved his family and his career. His girls and wife were everything to him. I have prayed many times for his family at this
difficult time. So many of us in the veterinary community will miss him. He was a super nice person and I will truly miss him. My love and prayers for his beloved family. He was taken too soon, and I know he is in heaven.
He is survived by his wife and daughters.

Robert (Bob) Stevens Earl passed on July 29, 2017 at the age of 88. A 63-year resident of West Covina, CA Bob is survived by Marie, his wife of 65 years; children Claudia and Robert; grandchildren Andrew, Darren and Sarah; great granddaughters Allison and Avery with a great grandson expected in September 2017. Bob lived for his Family, his Country, his Community, and his Alma Mater. FIGHT ON!
The Covina High School Hall of Fame, the City of Covina Wall of Honor, the Hiram Award and the Melvin Jones Fellow Award are a few of Bob's community honors.

Clara Marie Shutz, 96, born on February 4, 1921 in Nogales, Arizona passed away November 30, 2017, with her family by her side.
She worked for the Burbank PSD in 1945. She was an accomplished educator and community supporter.
Clara is survived by; one daughter and son-in-law Susanna and Robert Robar, one son-in-law Larry Aguil; five grandchildren, Rene Robar and Tony Bancroft, Ryan and Maria Robar, Julie and Andy Alvarez, Marita Aguilar; and six great-grandchildren. Clara is pre-deceased by her husband Alexander Shutz, one son Raymond Shutz, one grandson Jason Alexander Robar, one daughter Katherine Aguilar.
She resided in Burbank, California at the time of her passing.

"My BHS Class of 1973 classmate Richard Gerald "Jerry" Gillespie passed away in 2012. He was a quiet, mild mannered guy who I first met at the summer activities held at George Washington Elementary School in the cabin on the playground in about 5th or 6th grade. Jerry was a manager on the cross country and track and field teams. RIP Jerry!"
