Iris H. Scott, BHS Former TeacherIris H. Scott, 78, died October 7, 1983 in a North Hollywood hospital. She was born in Texas and was a long time residence of Burbank.
She is survived by her husband, David Harold Scott of Burbank; son, Douglas Scott of Norwalk, CT; sister, Mrs. Bobbie Harris of Mineral Wells, Texas.
Mrs. Scott had taught in Burbank public schools conducting the girls choruses at Luther Burbank Junior High and later teaching Speech and Senior English at Burbank High School. She was the sponsor of the California Scholarship Federation, an honor student organization.
Active in civic activities, she had served as president of the Glendale-Burbank Toast Mistress Club, was a member of the Junior Guild and the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was selected by the graduating class of 1967 as Burbank High's Teacher of the Year.
Cremation with ashes scattered at sea.
