Susan McCorkle, PARADISE – Services will be at noon Tuesday at Rose Chapel for Susan Irene McCorkle, 31, of Magalia.

Miss McCorkle died Wednesday, at her home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Butte County Coroner’s Office. She reportedly had been despondent over a terminal illness. Born August 16, 1944, in Los Angeles, she had resided in Magalia for five years.

She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Dewey of Burbank; her father, Andrew Booth of Medford, Oregon; and two brothers, Edward Booth of Burbank and James Booth of Banks, Oregon. 

Rev. Louis Langworthy of the Paradise Seventh-day Adventist Church is to officiate tomorrow with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Rose Chapel for Susan Irene McCorkle, 31, of Magalia, who died December 18, 1975 at her home reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Lewis Langworthy, chaplain at Feather River Hospital, officiated at the services. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills. Born August 16, 1944 in Los Angeles, Mrs. McCorkle was a Magalia resident for five years. She last worked as a secretary for a local insurance company for two years.

Surviving are her parents, Evelyn Dewey of Burbank, Andrew Booth of Medford, Oregon; and two brothers, Edward Booth of Burbank and James Booth of Banks, Oregon.
