Victor C. Bolduc, 85, of Simi Valley passed away on February 14, 2006, from heart failure after a long battle with post-polio syndrome. Victor was born in Magog, Quebec, Canada on February 27, 1920. He came to the United States with his parents and two brothers at the age of 4.
He started his work life early, selling magazines at Warner Bros. Studios, even getting to work as an extra in a couple of movies. As a teen, he exercised horses at Black Fox Military Academy. During high school he was a high-jumping track star at Burbank High School.
After graduation, he was a lifeguard at Pickwick Swim Park in Burbank. He then went to work for Lockheed Aircraft in Ireland, packing parachutes during World War II.
He married his sweetheart, Connie Curry, in 1944, and became a wonderful and loving husband and father. He served proudly in the Army Air Corps after World War II, during the occupation in the Philippines.
He went to work in the aircraft industry after his military service ended. His last endeavor was as part-owner of Aero Interiors at the Jet Center at Van Nuys Airport. There, he designed custom interiors for executive jets, including work on Air Force One.
He was a Boy Scoutmaster at St. Genevieve’s in Van Nuys, his children’s school. He enjoyed fishing and camping in the Sierra with his family, and bowling and golfing with his buddies. He and his wife, Connie, traveled to many exciting destinations over the years, and especially loved cruises. He will be forever loved and remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and generous heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Connie; his son, Dennis Bolduc; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, of Winchester, Virginia; daughter, Cheryl O’Malley of Roseville, California; granddaughter, Connie Allen of San Pedro; grandson, Matthew Kraftt of Roseville; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Keona Allen, all of San Pedro.
There will be a time of visitation from 4 to7 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, with a recitation of the rosary from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. February 22, at the Assumption Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road, Simi Valley.
