Molly Malone Henderson, 51, passed away November 30, 2014 at her home in Temecula, after a 2 year battle with brain cancer. 

She is survived by her husband, Socks; mother, Maggie; brothers, Keith Malone and Curtis Malone; sisters, Valerie Clements (Gary), Julie Dunbar, and Lisa McLaughlin (Jim); and numerous nieces and nephews. On Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 4:35 AM I watched my beautiful wife, lover and best friend, Molly Malone Henderson, take her final breath on earth, leave her cancer battered body behind and enter into the presence of God, Our Father, and his only Son, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so proud of you, Molly, and the way that you finished the race; with grace, dignity and an unwavering faith in God that inspired so many people along the way. I love you very much. More than you will ever know. And I can’t wait to see you again in your brand new body….. when I too arrive in paradise. Socks

Albert Harry Shabazian, BHS 1966

Albert Harry Shabazian, BHS 1966 Millville, CA January 26th, 1948 - September 16th, 2015. 

On Wednesday September 16th, 2015 Albert "Al" Harry Shabazian passed away at his home in Millville after a long battle with cancer. He was 67 years old. During Al's passing he was surrounded by family and love; his beloved wife of 45 years, Carol, was by his side, as was his brother-in-law and best friend of 55 years, Eddie.

 Al was born in Los Angeles on Monday January 26th, 1948. Al grew up in Burbank, California with his three sisters (Nancy, Barbara, and Joyce) and Richard, his brother. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1966 and enrolled in Pierce Junior College shortly thereafter. After realizing college wasn't for him, he was drafted into the Vietnam War. During Al's years of service with the United States Army (1968-1969) he was combat wounded twice and was awarded two Purple Hearts. Al Shabazian was recognized as a "local war hero" by the "Burbank Leader" newspaper in 1969. Al was proud to have served his country in the United States Army and of the camaraderie and companionship he shared with his fellow soldiers both in Vietnam and back in the states years later. 

Upon returning from Vietnam, Al married the love of his life and his girlfriend of five years; Carolyn (Nemecek) Shabazian in 1970. Al and Carol went on to have two children together; Lisa Lynn Shabazian (born 1973) and Albert Adam Shabazian (born 1976) before relocating their family to Northern California. Al's family was very important to him and raising his children in the best environment possible led him to move his wife and children to Palo Cedro, California in 1978. Being established as a knowledgeable, effective, personable, and humorous automotive mechanic enabled Al to embark on a 30 year career at Fritz's Auto Repair in Palo Cedro, until his retirement December 31st, 2008.

Al Shabazian was an avid hunter, fisherman and shooter. He looked forward to out of state big game hunts and weekend shooting with his son and grandsons. He loved hunting dogs and trained and enjoyed the companionship of two Weimaraners and a German Shorthair over his adult lifetime. Al was also a fan of music from the 1960's. 

Al is preceded in death by both of his parents; Al and Agavine, his older sister Nancy, and his mother-in-law Marguerite (Watson) Nemecek. Al is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol, his son Al, daughter-in-law Molly, his grandsons Conner and Cooper; from Millville, and his daughter Lisa from Quartz Hill, California. Al Shabazian's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September 26th, 2015 at 2:30 p.m at Millville Cemetery; located at 23799 Old 44 Drive, Millville, California 96062.

Jack Chamberlain, BHS 1950

Jack Chamberlain, BHS 1950........ Jack Chamberlain passed away on August 27, 2009 in Arroyo Grande, California. He was surrounded by his family. Jack will be remembered as a nice guy with a quick wit and a fine athlete, particularly as a baseball pitcher.He graduated from Burbank High School with the Class of 1950. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 56 years, Joanne Couch Chamberlain JBHS 51, his daughters Kim and Nikki and son Tim, and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jack had many friends there on the Central Coast and was very active in the community. He will be sorely missed.

Paul Christopher McGrew, BHS 1985 1967 – 2015

Paul Christopher McGrew passed away in Tehachapi, California, on September 10, 2015. He was 48 years old.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will directly follow the funeral service at Tehachapi Public Cemetery – Westside. Wood Family Funeral Service has been entrusted with his care. Paul Christopher McGrew passed away in Tehachapi on Sept. 10, 2015.

Paul was born to William and Barbara McGrew on July 2, 1967, in Glendale. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1985 and has been employed by Terra-Gen for many years. Paul loved camping, Dodgers baseball, hunting, gardening and cooking for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Stephanie; his 9-year-old daughter, Holly; his parents; his two sisters; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and many friends. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, in the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel in Tehachapi.

Gene Schultz, BHS 1946

Gene Schultz, BHS 1946 Passed away on Sunday May 10, 2009 in Sedona, Arizona. He had relocated permanently around 1987. He successfully owned and operated two large facilities, selling Indian artifacts and jewelry known as "Turquoise Buffalo Gallery" and "Buffalo Indian Traders". Gene leaves his wife, Geri, four sons and his sister Miriam Schultz Laird BHS 48 who lives in Camarillo, California. ----------------------- His friends recall many stories about Gene, all of them interesting and fun. Norm Waters BHS 46 recall Gene wanted to play Varsity Football, not "B". He was too thin and light so he ate as many bananas before the weigh-in. Alas, he remained a "B". One classmate recalls that at an assembly, to the surprise of all, Gene appeared on stage and sang a popular song of the day. He had little experience or training, but did a great job! May he Rest in Peace.

Judy Loscito Bolander, BHS 1964

Judy Bolander June 29, 1945 - October 11, 2006 Resided in Salinas, CA Today we celebrate the life of Judy Bolander, who was called to rest on Oct. 11, 2006 in Santa Clara. She was born on June 29, 1945 in Los Angeles to John and Josephine Loscito. She graduated from Burbank High School in 1964. In school, she loved boys more than Math. She remained close with all of her school chums. To this day, they still met two or three times a year, and keep in constant contact by e-mail or the Burbank Loop. She was married in 1965, and then moved to Monterey County in 1973, where she has resided in Salinas. She raised her daughter, Christa Eve, as a single mother. Judy was devoted to her daughter and grandson, Connor. She has been a customer service Representative at Weyerhaeuser Paper Company for the past 20 years. Judy was somewhat a local legend at Christmas time, starting in November with a wild cookie party for all of her Salinas pals and ending with spectacular Christmas open house. If anyone was ever lucky enough to attend, they would find every inch of her three bedroom house, top to bottom with a Victorian Christmas. Every nook and cranny filled with her love of the Holiday Spirit. Whether it was the room designated for her 200 plus Santa's, or the fabulous feast that awaited all her guests, lasting into the wee hours of the night. Her outgoing warm Italian heart would welcome anyone, anytime. Her friends brought her great joy. Judy is survived by her daughter, Christa Eve Gempler, who now resides in Idaho with her husband Chris and son, Connor, age 4. Her Mother, Josephine Loscito of Salinas, whom she shared special Friday night dinners. Her sister Janet and husband Dr. Gary Simmons, nephew John and

nieces Jennifer, and Sue. Andrew Cunningham Sager, III, BHS 1949

Andrew C. Sager, BHS 1949 October 19, 1931 - August 12, 2012

Andrew Cunningham Sager, III, passed away August 12, 2012, due to a motorcycle accident near La Honda, California. Andrew was born October 19, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Phyllis L. and Andrew C. Sager. He graduated from Burbank High School , Burbank , California . Because of his love for music, specifically the trumpet, he organized the comedy “Uoomp” Band” in high school. During his one year in junior college, he played at various events in the Los Angeles area with the Bob Porters Swing Band, as well as the Los Angles Symphony, working with Warner Brothers Studio Orchestra.

Andy joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 as a musician. Boot camp in San Diego preceded his transfer to Washington, DC, where he attended the Naval Conservatory of Music, received his musician stripes, and played in the U.S. Navy Band. As a trumpeter, he traveled with The Three Blue Jackets, performing with the Navy Band and as guests of other orchestras. Andy served on an aircraft carrier with the 7th Fleet as a navigation novice and main bugler on board the USS Philippine Sea until 1954.

Andy spent most of his professional life in architectural specification work, contract sales, and management in the automatic door business at Stanley and Besam. As regional manager and manufacture’s rep, he traveled throughout the coastal western states, as well as Idaho , Nevada , Utah , and Arizona.

His passion for tennis, bicycling, sailing, golfing, and most recently motorcycling demonstrated his zest for athletic adventure. Above all, Andy treasured his family and the time he spent with them. Dear friends meant the world to him. His kind heart, his quirky sense of humor, and his infectious laugh leave us with great memories etched in our hearts!!

Left to cherish his memory, his immediate family: wife of 41 years Judith Reynolds Sager of Belmont; daughter Wendy Sorensen, Laguna Woods; son Andy (Julie), Laguna Hills; grandsons Eric (Laura), Darrin, Drew, and Austin; great grandchildren Ella and Hunter. He was born in Korea and was a fun loving guy and full of life. He will be missed. No other details at this time.

Michael Douglas Gough, BHS 1970

JULY 16, 1952 - BURBANK, CALIFORNIA ~ JULY 22, 2015 - LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA ........... Mike Gough passed away on July 22 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,after a long illness, less than a week after his 63rd birthday. ................ Mike was the third of four sons in his family. They lived on Frederic St. in Burbank while Mike was growing up. He attended Benjamin Franklin Elementary,Luther Burbank Junior High, and Burbank High School. At BHS Mike played Varsity Football,starting at nose guard on the defensive line. He was an outstanding shot putter on the Track Team. ........... While at Burbank High in 1968 Mike met Denise Cooper. They were both in Dance Performance at BHS. Mike and Denise were married on July 1, 1972, and just had their 43rd anniversary. Mike became a Burbank Police Officer in 1973, and was a detective with the department before he retired in 1993 after 20 years of service. ............. Mike is survived by his wife, Denise Cooper Gough, of Valencia; daughter and son-in-law, Erin Gough Wehrenberg and Kevin Wehrenberg,and their two boys, Charlie and Henry Wehrenberg, of Burbank;son and daughter-in-law, Michael Patrick Gough and Ashley Gough of Pasadena;older brothers, Alan Gough and David Gough; younger brother, Steven Gough;and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Lucienne Cooper, of Canyon Lake..........

William Henry Bertrand, Former BHS Principal/Teacher

William Henry Bertrand, esteemed coach, teacher, and administrator in Burbank Unified School District passed away on June 24, 2015 surrounded by family. Born in Glendale, California on May 13, 1930, he was a proud graduate of UCLA and served in the armed forces, driving a tank into the fallout of the atomic tests in the 1950s. He married his high school sweetheart Della and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Bill dedicated over 40 years to the Optimist International Organization participating as a member of the Magnolia Park club and serving as President of the Optimist Youth Home as well on the Board and helping to establish the charter school. Additionally he was proud of being named a juror to the Los Angels County Grand Jury.A beloved and caring husband, father, grandfather and uncle, he is survived by his wife Della, daughters Susan and Kristi, son William Michael, son-in-laws Jim Rondou, Rene Herrera and Robert Conner, five grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
