Duane Romberger, December 21, 1931 - January 11, 2017
Duane passed away unexpectedly with his family at his side, less than a day after being taken to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank. He was 85. Duane and his wife had been regular attendees of the Senior Bulldogs luncheons in Burbank until their last time in August 2015.
After high school Duane served in the Army with a Military Police Unit. Later he graduated with a Business Degree from Cal State Los Angeles. He was a electrician, a member of Union #11.
On December 18, 1953 Duane married Mary Jane Kemp at First Baptist Church of Burbank, across the street from Burbank High. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary last month. They have lived in their home on Brighton in Burbank for the last 60 years, the home Duane parent's built in 1940.
Duane was predeceased by his sister, Ellen Romberger Williams, BHS 45 who passed away in 2012. Duane is survived by his wife Mary Jane, BHS 53, his children, Duane Romberger, Jr. and wife Susan; Keith Romberger and wife Michelle; and Jayleen Romberger Budwig and husband Jeff; brother Gordon Romberger, JBHS 54 and his wife Joan of Alhambra. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, David, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Romberger; Kielle and Keaton Romberger; and Jacob, Jessica, Jayme, and Jocellyn Budwig; and nine Great-grandchildren.
Duane and Mary Jane have attended and been members of Calvary Bible Church on Main Street in Burbank for 53 years, and a memorial service was held there for Duane on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
