FRANK PAYSON SUMMERIL
November 2, 1925-December 22, 2016
BURBANK – Frank Payson Summeril , 91 , of Burbank , passed away December 22, 2016. Born November 2, 1925 in Los Angeles to Stanley and Loretta Summeril. Frank attended Burbank High School and graduated from Brown Military Academy previously located in San Diego, California. Soon after graduation Frank joined the United State Marine Corps and served with honor from October 21, 1943 until July 2, 1946 after World War II ended. While serving in the Marine Air Corps as a Machine Gun Crewman he earned the rank of Corporal along with rifleman and good conduct medals. After receiving his honorable discharge he found his calling in the telecommunications industry where he worked for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for 35 years retiring as a 2nd Level Engineer in 1982. After retiring he continued to remain active in the telecommunications industry as a life member of the Tel Co Retirees Association and Telephone Pioneers of America. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association and an active member of the Burbank High School alumni association.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Naomi Marie Summeril. Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Scott and wife Robbie of Carlsbad, California ; son, Frank and wife Cindy of Woodland Park, Colorado; and daughter Sandra of Encinitas, California; as well as 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. All were his pride and his joy.
The family will greet friends at a Chapel Memorial Service held at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and Mortuary, 10621 Victory Blvd. North Hollywood at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2017.
