Edgar Allen "Bud" Davis, BHS 1949
April 28, 1931 - March 15, 2017
Bud Davis was a former neighbor of mine and he passed away March 15, 2017 in Hurricane, Utah. While at Burbank High, Bud was 2nd vice president and played varsity football and active in many school activities. I was going to write something nice up but his daughter Gerri Lynn wrote about her dad's life in a special way only a daughter could.
"Can't sleep, thinking of the words to say at my Dads celebration of life ceremony. Gathering my strength and my thoughts! Sharing just a glimpse of who he was, a simple man, that worked hard, who loved his family, was short on words and emotions, loved his country, his animals, his faith his sports (football and golf)!! He was a jack of all trades (served his country in Korea, USN, graduated from the Culinary Art Institute, was a hair dresser, owned
his own salon in Burbank (Avon Coiffures), drove yellow cab, was a golf starter at Debell Golf Course, worked in the trenches of waste water at the City of Burbank Reclamation Center and promoted to clean water and became a Water Plant supervisor! "
"His greatest accomplishments was us, his children and grandchildren in which he instilled the value of working hard! He had a fulfilled life and would have been married to his loving wife, our Mom for 60 years this coming June, she stood by his side through a difficult last year of advanced Alzheimer's! "
"We know he is at peace and we will all be together to celebrate his legacy! "
Bud is survived by his wife, Carrie, his daughter, Gerri Lynn Davis McCorkle, sons, Burt Davis and Kirk Davis, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, and several grandchildren.
His celebration of Life was held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Center, 171 Main Street, Hurricane, Utah, 84737
