Stephen Philip Nogar, age 66 of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013, in Hazard, Kentucky after a long battle with a serious illness. He was born September 09, 1947 to the late Thorne and Doris Heiser Nogar in Monroe, Michigan.
Stephen was a truck driver for 29 years, Navy Veteran of 3 terms in the Vietnam War, and believed in the Christian faith. Stephen lived the adventures of life that most of will only get to dream about; his dad, Thorne, was one of the recording engineers for Elvis Presley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby sister, Lori Jo.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Pamela Nogar; son, Vincent Harris, daughter-in-law, Meghan Harris, and grandson, Elijah Barrett Harris, of Lexington, KY; sister and brother in law, Barbie and Peter Franchino; nephew, Devin Franchino, and wife, Michele; niece, Julie, and husband, Mark; Godparents, Jerry & Greta Gulickson; great nieces and nephews, Simon, Kyle, and Mitchell; as well as cousins, Chris and Donna Vandercook of Dundee, Michigan, and Lisa; beloved pets, Sweetie and Poochie; and too many very special local friends to mention.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY on Friday, December 06, 2013, between 5 – 7 pm with funeral services beginning at 7 pm with Jeff Sims and Keith Nelson officiating.
NOTE: Stephen was buried in the Los Angeles National Cemetery, Los Angeles, California.
