Memorial services for Vivian Jean Harris, 75, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria. She died Monday of a stroke at Marian Extended Care in Santa Maria. Her ashes will be scattered at sea.

Mrs. Harris, who was born in Brooking, Ore., lived in Riverside 50 years and Hemet 10 years before she moved to Santa Maria a year ago. She was a registered nurse in Riverside for 20 years.

She graduated from Burbank High School in 1940. She attended nursing school at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles and the University of California, Riverside. Mrs. Harris was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moreno Valley. She enjoyed spinning wool yarn and making clothes.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, Fletcher of Arroyo Grande; two sons, William of Arroyo Grande and Richard of Houston; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association of Los Angeles, 6300 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, 90048.
