Virginia Fay Lindsay Collins; Volunteer

Virginia Fay Lindsay Collins, a 65-year resident of Burbank and community volunteer, has died in Glendale. She was 70.Mrs. Collins died Nov. 15 of cancer, said her daughter, Carole Collins.

Born Virginia Fay Lindsay on Nov. 17, 1919, in Crosby, Minn., she moved to Burbank in 1925 and graduated from Burbank High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burbank, Order of Eastern Star Bethel No. 97 of Burbank, International Order of Jobs Daughters No. 352 and San Fernando Valley chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. In addition, she was a Moses Group volunteer, a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America and active in the PTA.

She is survived by her daughters, Carole Collins of Burbank and Christine Collins-Cross of Glendale; foster son, Dana Wynns of Rohnert Park, Calif.; two sisters and one granddaughter. Her husband, Leroy E. Collins, died in 1981.

A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Service Chapel, 333 E. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, which is handling the arrangements.
Donations can be made in Mrs. Collins' name to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Los Angeles or to the American Cancer Society.
