Belinda Lister passed away Sunday morning March 6, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital following a massive heart attack Monday night (February 31st).
She was a long-time teacher with Burbank United School District. Belinda began her service in 1973 at Edison Elementary School where she was a classroom teacher until June 1988. In 1988 she became a Reading/Math Resource Teacher serving Edison and McKinley elementary schools. In September 1991 she became a teacher on Special Assignment with the Los Angeles County Office of Education where she worked until her retirement in 2002.
She was a member of the Delta Kappa Society International of Women Educators for 30 years and held many positions within their Beta Epsilon chapter and on the Area IX board. She has been a part of CalRTA (retired teachers - Division 11) and most recently served as treasurer, and also recently became a Division Director. Her loss will be felt by many in the community.
She is survived by her husband, Don Lister, BHS 1956; a son, Glenn, and his wife, Sonja, and two grandsons; daughter, Lucy, and a grandson. The family is making arrangements, which will follow.
