Ex- Burbank High Student Leader Dies
Funeral services will be held Saturday for Robert Romanisky who died Tuesday at the age of 21 as a result of a traffic accident in Sun Valley. Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, Mr. Romanisky resided in Burbank for the past eight years at 1820 N. Rose.
A 1966 Burbank High School graduate where he was termed an outstanding student. Mr. Romanisky graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara last spring. Currently enrolled at the California Institute of the Arts in Burbank, he was one of 600 chosen for the school among more than 4,000 applicants.
In his senior year at Burbank High he was honored for three years of outstanding contribution to drama at the school. He starred in "My Fair Lady" in his junior year and "Green Grow the Lilacs" during his senior year in addition to parts in the school's other drama productions. Deane Wolfson, drama instructor at Burbank High, called Mr. Romanisky "one of the outstanding students I ever had."
He was head cheerleader at Burbank and was active in the school's student government. He was a member of the marching band in grades 10 and 11 in addition to being active in drama all three years of his senior high school years.
He is survived by his father, Andrew G. Romanisky Sr. of Sherman Oaks; his mother' Mrs. Geraldine Fender and one brother, Andrew G. Romanisky Jr. of Burbank. The family requests that in lieu of flowers persons contribute to the Robert G. Romanisky Memorial Drama Scholarship Fund at Burbank High School.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Service Chapel at 333 E. Magnolia.
Bob was a giant talent, gone too soon.
