Stanley L . Crawford, 79, a Southern California resident for 64 years died March 5, 2004 following a courageous battle against cancer.
Crawford was born in Waukegan, IL on July 11, 1924 to Louis and Beryl Crawford . The family moved to Burbank in 1939 and Crawford graduated from Burbank High School in 1942.
Crawford was hired by the Cadillac division of General Motors in 1946 and advanced to the position of District Manager. He worked there for 12 years. Crawford met Joan Turner at Cadillac and the two were married in 1953 at the Village Church of Westwood. Their son, Bradley L . Crawford was born in 1959.
Crawford began a lifelong career in commercial real estate sales and development in 1959. Between 1974 and 2003 he worked as a financial advisor for BKK Corporation. The Crawfords lived in Glendale, Costa Mesa and Torrance before moving to Rolling Hills Estates in 1981.
Crawford is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan; his son, Brad and daughter-in-law, Debbie; grandchildren, Amanda Jo and Scott Louis Crawford ; and sisters, Eva Rayner of Mission Viejo and Bette Nier of San Jose. His sister, Millie Bell passed away in 1988. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00pm Thursday, March 11, at McCormick Mortuaries, 1998 S. Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach, CA.
