Donald Watkinson, 82, of Cottage Grove died Oct. 24, 2010 from heart disease. No service is planned.
Donald was born Sept. 12, 1928 in Burbank, Calif. to Peter and Geneive (Van Straten) Watkinson.He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan. On May 3, 1952 in Montrose, Calif., he married Marilyn Carney.
For 31 years he worked for the Rocketdyne Division of Rockwell International as a machinist and manufacturing engineer. He retired in 1986. In 2000, they moved to Cottage Grove from Canoga Park, Calif.
Donald enjoyed golfing and was an avid Oregon Ducks fan.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Karen Ferrato of California, Teri Ducar of Texas and Linda Abell of Washington, a son, Steven Watkinson of California, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements under the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Cottage Grove.
