SALEM - Lynda passed away on September 7, 2010, after a long fight with cancer. Lynda was born on March 10, 1943, to Don and Jane Dieudonne in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent her childhood in Burbank, California and graduated from Burbank High School in 1960. Lynda went to Cal Poly before she married Gene Bernards. Lynda had three sons, Russell, Robert and Tom Bernards. Their marriage ended in 1980. Lynda and Dean Lettenmaier married on May 27, 1984.
She loved camping, bowling, the coast, the casino, her flowers and her many friends and family. She worked at SAIF and ODOT, retiring from ODOT in 2008. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Jane Dieudonne.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; her sons, Russell, Robert and Tom Bernards; her stepchildren, Misty, Anne and Jesse Lettenmaier; her brother, Robert Dieudonne of California; her sister, Jeannette Beatty of Washington; and her four grandchildren, Mitchell, Matt and Jeff Bernards and Paige Butner.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local animal shelter. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2010, at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
