Ora Don McMurry, BHS 1944Ora Don McMurry, 79, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2005.Don, also known as Mac, was born in Los Angeles, CA on September 23, 1925. He grew up in Burbank, CA where he remained a resident until 1998. Don served as a Staff Sgt. in the Air Corps during W.W.II. He taught science and coached athletics at Burbank High School and was well known for his athletic cinematography.
Don was a long time member of Magnolia Park United Methodist Church.Don was preceded in death by his loving wift of 38 years, Edna McMurry. He is survived by his daughters Donna McMurry and Teri Wemyss, son-in-law David Wemyss, Grandchildren Ryan, Bethany and Hope Wemyss and sister, Audry Tuttle.
A memorial service for Don will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 12, at the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn Memorial Park-Hollywood Hills.
