Carol Ann Olson Williams, BHS 1960

Carol Ann Olson Williams, BHS 1960

Thousand Oaks, CA

Carol Ann (Olson) Williams was born in Glendale, California on October 9, 1942 and left us on April 16, 2016 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Curtis and Evelyn Olson of Goleta, California.

Carol was graduated with honors from Burbank High School in Burbank in 1960 and earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from California Lutheran University. She was employed for many years by the City of Thousand Oaks and retired in 2004 after a distinguished career in the City Manager's Office. After retirement, she volunteered in her community in many ways including writing grant requests for various charitable organizations, and regularly visited hospitalized patients with her beloved therapy dog Mollie.

A devout Christian and lifelong Methodist, Carol was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks. Being a lover of sacred music, she always enjoyed singing in the church choir. Her most recent act of service to her church was co-chairing the church council.

A memorial service for Carol will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks, 1000 East Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, CA. The Reverend Steven F. Peralta will officiate.

Carol leaves behind many friends and relatives who dearly loved this great lady.

Received this email notifying me of her death. I corrected the high school in the obit.

Carol Ann Olson (married name Carol Williams) class of 1960 who passed away in Thousand Oaks recently.  Some of the info in the paper (Ventura County Star) was wrong  and so I contacted her church.  I was told that her husband had died some years ago and no other relatives.  Her illness left her unable to speak, etc.  I think a neighbor wrote the obit.  It is basically right as far as I know, except for the mention that she graduated from Burroughs with honors.  Not so.  I was a friend throughout elementary school (Monterey Ave), junior high (Luther Burbank) and Burbank High School where she was in Secretarial Science for all three years. I was with her the night we graduated from Burbank High!  I am hoping you can add this to your blog.  Although we were good friends in school, we did not communicate for many years.  But I do feel an obligation to get the facts correct.  thank you, Marcia Mudgett

  1. Carol was my second cousin. Her mother was my grandmother, Helen Mae Price Russell's, sister. Carol was a wonderful person. I only wish we could have kept in touch better through the years. She was a true blessing to know and I am blessed to be her cousin. Marsha Toler, Kansas City, KS
