Memorial Service Scheduled for Hovore
Services are scheduled for Oct. 7 in honor of Frank Thomas Hovore, 61, who died Friday while conducting research in Ecuador.
Hovore was credited with making the Placerita Canyon Natural Area and Nature Center one of the premier environmental education facilities in Southern California.
He was widely known as the world's authority on beetles, publishing books and dozens of papers on the subject. The service is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Robinson Ranch, located at 27734 Sand Canyon Road.
