Carl Randall Brick, BHS 1956

1938 - 2022

Carl Randall Brick was born on March 26, 1938 in San Francisco to Irving and Myrtle Brick. He passed away on January 31. 2022. 

While in elementary school his family moved to Burbank where he grew up. He graduated from Burbank High School and joined the Navy for 4 years. After the Navy he returned to Burbank, attended Pasadena City College for a year and then transferred to Claremont Men's College now known as Claremont McKenna College. He majored in Business Economics and worked for Unocal for 30 years in marketing and human resources in Los Angeles and San Diego. After retiring he attended CSUF for a teaching credential and substitute taught in the Fullerton School District for 10 years. Carl met his wife, Terry, while she was attending Scripps College across the street from CMC. They were married for 57 years. 

Carl was extremely proud of their two daughters, Elizabeth Brick and Catherine Bovenizer. He was "Pada" to Catherine's two children, Tim and Sarah. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Shari Roeseler, and his son-in-law, Brian Bovenizer. He was predeceased by his parents, his half-brother, Dan, and his brother, Dave. 

Carl loved to travel and visited many countries around the world. He was also an excellent bridge player earning his Life Master. He devoted time to the Placentia United Methodist Church, the Yorba Linda Senior Center, and classes to keep his mind growing. 

Services will be held on Friday, Feb. 18 at 11:00, at the Fullerton First United Methodist Church located at 114 North Pomona, Fullerton. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: St. Jude Memorial Foundation, 101 E. Valencia Mesa, Fullerton, CA Claremont McKenna College, 888 N. Columbia Ave., Claremont, CA 91711 Placentia United Methodist Church, 2050 N. Valencia, Placentia. In an abundance of caution, masks will be worn. Please park in the structure behind the Post Office.
