Spec4 John Campbell, 20, was killed in action in Vietnam. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Estella Lewis of Burbank, California, and three brothers, David, William, Ray, and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Chavez, Mrs. Carol Sharp. Spec4 Robert John Campbell attended Luther Burbank Junior High and Burbank High School with the class of 1967.

He had enlisted in the United States Army. Entered the service via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on September 27, 1968. Campbell had the rank of Specialist Four. His military occupation or specialty was Light Weapons Infantry. Service number assignment was 18857861. Attached to 198th Light Infantry Brigade, 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry, A Company.

Died through hostile action, small arms fire. Incident location: South Vietnam, Quang Tin province. His name can be found on the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. on Panel 30W, Line 020.
