SKELTON IDENTIFIED FROM DENTAL RECORDS

KAILUA-KONA – Police have identified a man whose skeleton was found in a remote area of Kailua-Kona Saturday as Dean Cunningham, 50, of Kailua-Kona, they said.

Cunningham was identified through dental records. An autopsy was unable to determine the cause of death, but there was no sign of foul play. The skeleton was found on a back street by a person looking for rocks to build a wall.

KONA REMAINS ARE IDENTIFIED

KEALAKEHE, Hawaii – Police identified skeletal remains found Saturday as Dean Cunningham, 50, of Kailua-Kona. Cunningham’s family reported him missing on September 13th. Police said the cause of death was not known. An autopsy was conducted Monday at Kona Community Hospital.

A man gathering stones for a rock wall found the remains at the end of Kamaka Eha Street in Kailua-Kona. They were identified through dental records.

  1. I hung out with his sister Cathy. She was so much fun & so pretty. One of those girls admired for having the incredibly handsome older brother, Dean. I just remember they were both so friendly & nice..
