Dixie Lavonne (Turner) Cargill passed away at home February 4, 2018 after a brief illness.
She was born June 7, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Floyd Ester Turner and Edith Lavonne Tiwater Turner. She was a loving daughter, sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who first love God and secondly her family without condition. She and Jimmie Cargill (deceased) were married July 19, 1957 in Glendale, California where their four children were born. Jean Kay (Cargill) Waller (deceased); Roy Lee Cargill, Russell Brian Cargill and Teresa Lavonne (Cargill) Spohr.
Dixie never said no to a challenge and when her grandchildren needed care she was there for them. Her loving and kind heart was huge and we each shared in the blanket of love she showered on everyone including friends.
She is survived by her living children and grandkids Stephanie Waller, Kevin Cargill, Michael Waller, Landon Cargill and James Cargill. She was a special Mom Great Grandma to Jean Marie Lee Waller who lived with her since a baby. She loved all of her grandkids Havyn Morris, Anna, Bella, Elizabeth. Her sister Betty Jean Turner Johnsen of Palm Desert, CA. Her brother Jimmie Turner preceded her.
Services will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11AM graveside, Sunset Hill Cemetery Corning, CA. a celebration of life will be held at 1PM, East Avenue Community Church, 1184 East Avenue, Chico, CA. We invite all to come celebrate the life of this incredible woman of God. The Family of Dixie.
