Robert Henry Ford, BHS 1935
Funeral services were held for Robert Henry Ford, 87, of Chico on Monday at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home. He died Friday June 18, 2004 at a local convalescent hospital. Bob was born on March 29, 1917 in Long Beach, Calif. to Nellie and Irven Ford.
He was raised and educated in Burbank where he graduated from high school. On June 12, 1936 he married Curtyne Van Buskirk. Bob worked for Warner Brothers and Lockheed Aircraft before beginning a 29-year career with IBM. Following his retirement in 1975, the couple moved to Las Vegas and later to Chico in 1998. Bob enjoyed fishing, photography and was an avid train buff.
Survivors include his daughter, Bev Rozendaal of Chico; a brother, Harold P. Ford of Gaithersburg, Maryland; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His wife, "Teen" and daughter, Anita Prentice, predeceased him.
Entombment will take place next to his wife at Chico Memorial Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to a favorite charity in care of the funeral home, and condolences can be sent online at nbcfh.com.
