From daughter, Gretchen Livesey - My dad passed away peacefully last evening (9-26-24) at the Corona Regional Medical Center where his wife, Sue, had taken him two weeks ago with shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat. It turned out that he had metastatic lung cancer. He soldiered through many many years with Myasthenia Gravis, and stayed as active as possible.
He was the founder at Tribal School Solutions and former Superintendent/Principal at Tule River Indian Tribe of the Tule River Reservation, California. He was a recognized innovative leader in California education with over forty years of experience creating, restructuring, shaping, and leading large and small K-12 public school districts, county and statewide reform Initiatives, private boarding schools, 9-14 career academies, tribal schools, and community college programs.
